3D Mapping, Redefined

For professional photogrammetry and aerial mapping, the senseFly S.O.D.A. 3D is unmatched. The ingenious innovation includes a camera that changes orientation during flight, providing the ability to capture three images (2 obliques, 1 nadir) with every shot, instead of just a single image. This allows for a much wider field of view for more in-depth, vibrant output, resulting in a better final product. The images from the senseFly S.O.D.A. 3D are optimized for quick, robust processing with Pix4Dmapper.

Vast Mapping Coverage

Designed specifically for use with the eBee X, leading fixed-wing unmanned aircraft, the senseFly S.O.D.A. 3D can achieve coverage of vast areas of flat, homogenous terrain (up to 500 ac / 1,235 ac per 122m / 400ft flight). In conjunction with the performance of the eBee X, which boasts a maximum flight time of 90 minutes with Endurance Extension, you can cover much larger areas in less time than is possible with quadcopters. The high-resolution images provided by the S.O.D.A. 3D, with the unique three image capture system, are ideal for creating detailed, accurate maps of large areas.

3D Reconstructions

The unique ability of the senseFly S.O.D.A. 3D to capture images in two orientations and the resulting wider field of view translates to stunning digital 3D reconstructions in vertically-focused environments such as urban areas or open-pit mines - anywhere with walls or steep sides. The camera also has the ability to capture incredibly sharp aerial images in nearly all light conditions, to produce vivid orthomosaic images, and highly accurate 3D digital surface models.

In-Flight Georeferencing

For improved accuracy and precision, the S.O.D.A. 3D records GPS position as well as camera orientation of each image captured. This system of data recording means that less image overlap is needed, resulting in more efficient flights and greater flight coverage, not to mention quicker image processing for results. Better georeferenced image data also means improved 3D reconstructions of typically challenging environments such as water or forests.
