Configuring the RTK Module for M210 RTK V2
1. Install the Intelligent Flight Batteries
-
Ensure that you are using the recommended TB55 batteries. Do not use other types of batteries.
-
Insert a pair of batteries into the aircraft.
-
Press once on the battery to check the battery level.
-
Press again and hold until the batteries turn on or off.
2. Prepare the RTK Antennas
-
Unfold the D-RTK antennas from their stowed positions on the aircraft.
-
Ensure that each antenna is fully extended and the knobs are tightened securely as indicated by the lock icons on the aircraft.
3. Activate RTK on the DJI Pilot App
-
Open the DJI Pilot app on your connected mobile device or the built-in display if using the DJI CrystalSky monitor.
-
In the Camera View, tap on the icon in the upper right corner to access settings.
-
Tap on "RTK" and then enable the aircraft's RTK mode.
-
Select your desired service type (typically Real-Time Kinematic for precise navigation).
4. Connect to the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station
-
Make sure that the DJI D-RTK 2 High Precision GNSS Mobile Station for the Matrice series is set up and powered on near your launch area (More on this in the section below)
-
Establish a connection between the mobile station and the aircraft via the RTK module. The connection status should be visible in the DJI Pilot app.
5. Verify RTK Signal
-
Ensure that the DJI Pilot app displays a strong RTK signal before takeoff. This is crucial for maintaining precision in flight operations, especially in environments where GPS reliability is compromised.
-
Check the RTK status for any warnings or errors and resolve them before proceeding.
6. Pre-Flight Checks
-
Conduct standard pre-flight checks including calibration, sensor checks, and ensuring the area is clear of obstacles and interference.
7. Take Off
-
Once all systems are confirmed operational and RTK is active, proceed with your flight plan.
Settling Up The DJI D-RTK 2 High Precision GNSS Mobile Station
Equipment Setup
-
Assemble the Station: Attach the D-RTK 2 body onto the extension rod and tighten the lock nut. Ensure that the station is level by checking the bubble level.
-
Powering On: Press and hold the power button of the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station to turn it on.
Connection Process
-
Remote Controller and Aircraft Preparation: Ensure that both the aircraft (M210 RTK V2) and the remote controller are powered on and connected to each other.
-
Entering Operating Mode: Press and hold the Operating Mode button until the indicator turns green, then press until it blinks four times, indicating that you are in Operating Mode 4, which is specific to M210 RTK V2.
Linking
-
Initiate Linking: On the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station, press the Link button. The link indicator will blink red and green alternately, indicating that the mobile station is ready to link.
-
Complete Linking: On the M210 RTK V2 aircraft, also press the Link button. The linking process is successful when the indicator lights on both the aircraft and the mobile station turn solid green.
Usage
-
RTK Activation: In the drone's operating software, navigate to the RTK settings and select the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station as the RTK data source.
-
Start Operation: Ensure the RTK status is displayed as "FIX" on the controller's RTK settings screen before starting your flight mission. This status confirms that the RTK module is correctly linked and providing high-precision data.
Troubleshooting
-
If the RTK status fails to display "FIX", verify connections and ensure there are no obstructions around the antenna area that might block the GNSS signals.
-
Check battery levels regularly and ensure that firmware is up to date for all components involved.
